Thanksgiving Point

Just south of my home at the point of the mountain is a wonderful place. Right now it has millions of Christmas lights and the cars line up to drive through. It is a drive-through Christmas Paradise which is really wonderful when it’s cold. With the weather this year it would be a pleasure to walk but other years it has been nice to drive. Millions of Christmas lights are so much fun to see!

My favorite occasion at this place happens in the spring when they have the tulip festival. At that time we get to walk through miles and miles of tulips and daffodils and all of the spring flowers. It is absolutely magnificent. At the tulip festival a couple of years ago, I brought home a memento, a beautiful polished rock, shaped like a heart, the color pink (with 3 daughters, pink has a major significance for me, that and purple!). It is my Gratitude Rock. The one that reminds me to be happy and grateful for all of the wonderful and happy things in my life.

This place has many, many gardens of both flowers and vegetables. KL Dental Marketing.com has great pictures on their site. It has a Children’s discovery garden and often the kids go there for field trips from school.

Adults can learn to become a Master Gardener there and Artists can study their crafts at the on site Art Institute. There is also a Museum of Ancient Life with dinosaurs and all kinds of interesting things. Add to all of that, a golf course, restaurants, gift shops and a movie theatre.
All in all this place is really cool!

But the very best part about this place is the name. For me, it triggers the good feelings of Gratitude every time I drive by and see the signs.
It’s called “Thanksgiving Point” .

Just seeing the signs makes me stop and think about being grateful and happy for what I have. There is even a lighted sign that you can see from the freeway that has changing inspirational quotes. One of my favorites that always shows up comes from Grandma Moses.

“Life is what you make it, Always has been, Always will be.”

Gratitude for what you already have is a gift you give yourself. It really feels good.

Do you have things in your life that remind you to feel grateful?
